The core structure of the starter motor
DC motor
Containing components such as armature, commutator, magnetic poles, and electric brushes, it is the core of energy conversion. After being powered on, the armature rotates under force in the magnetic field, generating mechanical energy.
Features: The torque is high at low speeds and gradually decreases at high speeds, making it suitable for the instantaneous high load requirements of starting the engine.
transmission mechanism
Adopting one-way clutches (such as roller type and friction plate) to achieve one-way power transmission. After the engine is started, when the flywheel speed exceeds that of the starter, the clutch automatically disengages to prevent damage to the starter due to overspeed.
electromagnetic switch
Control the main circuit on and off through electromagnetic coils. When the ignition switch is turned to the start position, the electromagnetic switch is engaged, pushing the drive gear to mesh with the flywheel and connecting the motor circuit.
